A Letter from Our Founder

Dear Friends,

 

I am thrilled to introduce you to Hadrian's Lover, a project that is deeply personal and close to my heart. As someone who has navigated the challenges of finding belonging and authentic connections within the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand the importance of having a safe, welcoming space to call home.

 

When I moved to Manchester from Canada, I found myself searching for a community that would embrace me for who I am. While I found pockets of acceptance and support, I recognised the need for an all-encompassing community hub that could serve the diverse needs of Manchester's LGBTQIA+ community.

 

This realisation led me to conceive Hadrian's Lover - a space where LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies can come together to connect, create, learn, and grow. Our vision is to provide a range of services and resources that empower and uplift our community, from social spaces and cultural events to support services and skill-building workshops.

 

At the core of Hadrian's Lover is a commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment. We believe in celebrating the richness of identities within the LGBTQIA+ community and creating a space where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported. By fostering a sense of belonging and pride, we aim to contribute to the well-being and vitality of Manchester's LGBTQIA+ population.
